2Chainz lands a major publishing deal with Reservoir Media, giving the company the rights to the rapper's 200-plus song catalog including his soon-to-be-released major-label debut Based on a T.R.U. Story. 2Chainz says he looks "forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Reservoir’s exceptional group of professionals,” and added, “artists depend on strong publishing representation and today, I believe I have secured that.”

Def Jam’s Senior Vice President of A & R Faith Newman commended the rapper, formerly knows as Tity Boi, saying, "He has a unique flow, look, and persona, and you feel that charisma when you meet him in person [and] loved that 2 Chainz was a veteran of the business, with a new major label deal, but underground at the same time,”

The deal comes as 2 Chainz holds the Top 2 slots on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and is featured on song with top names like Drake, Kanye West, Pusha T, and Big Sean.

Based on a T.R.U. Story is set to be released Tuesday by Def Jam Recordings.
