When rapper Lil' Wayne released his latest single on Thursday, he likely thought that the scene where he and some friends are singing in a movie theater filled with skeletons was supposed to be fresh and unusual.

Given the fact that just hours later, a crazed gunman went on a fatal shooting spree in a Colorado movie theater, the decision seems an ill-timed one.

Adding to the inappropriate timing is the fact that the second line of the song makes mention of a semiautomatic gun- saying 'no click click'- which was one of the weapons that shooter James Holmes used to fire off his quick and fatal rounds.

Aside from a few blogs mentioning the similarities between the video and what happened in Aurora, Colorado, there has been no public response from the rapper or his representatives.

Smiling faces: The rapper's daughter Reginae appears in the controversial portion of the video

The video for the single 'My Homies Still' features a number of odd characters like pink elephants and dog-headed men alongside Weezy and his collaborator Big Sean.
