Texas Tech to Offer Course on Zombies
If the Zombie Apocalypse does occur, don't be surprised if Red Raiders are still standing among the undead.
1200 WOAI News reports, Texas Tech this fall will become the first major college in Texas to offer a course on zombies.
"The culture of the zombie has just exploded in the last ten years," says pop culture expert Rob Weiner, who will teach the course. "There are lots of academic collections, there are popular collections."
Weiner says there will be plenty for his class to discuss.
"We'll talk about some of the history of the zombie in Haitian folklore and religion," he said.
He stressed that people who might think his honors-level class will be easy need to think again. He says as much research will be required as with any culture or sociology course.
